Burrs Activity Centre is situated in Burrs Country Park on the edge of Bury Town Centre; catering for all age groups i.e. schools, colleges and private sectors - facilities include Café, Bunkhouse, 2 Climbing Walls, Training Pool there is a Canal and a River on site and full changing facilities.

Activities available are Climbing, Abseiling, Kayaking, Canoeing, Orienteering, Archery, Raft Building, Cross Canal Challenge and Initiative Games.

Instructor and Trainee Instructors are required for the season from April to October to fulfil activities, SPA and Trainee Level 2 Coach plus Trainee GNAS, First Aid.

Full Time Instructors

The ideal candidate should demonstrate skills and experience in all areas; however shortfalls may be balanced by other strengths and further training.

Essential minimum requirements:

1. Minimum age 18 years
2. National Governing Body Awards:
   • Level 2 Trainee Kayak/Canoe
   • SPA training
   • Current First Aid Certificate

Desired Requirements:

1. Other NGB awards
2. Good interpersonal skills
3. Problem solving skills

Freelance Instructors

Freelance instructors are required throughout the year with minimum of the following:

1. Level 2/3 Coach (Kayak/Canoe)
2. SPA
3. High Ropes experience
4. Current First Aid Certificate
5. Current CRB form

Desired Requirements:

1. Other NGB awards, GNAS
2. Good interpersonal skills
3. Problem solving skills
4. Team Building skills
